Mindfulness – thoughts

I went to Southern California to see the celebration of HH the Dalai Lama’s birthday, and after hearing talks of all the Nobel Laureates, I sat down and started writing. Here are my words. Enjoy 🙂
Our fear grows higher and higher as we think “I need to acquire, I need to acquire…”

And where does that leave us?

In a land of fear and lust.

We acquire and fear the loss until we die, and in the end with us nothing will lie.
Things are not owned by us, in fact the current sad truth in this world is they own us.
But this is not the ultimate truth. For the ultimate truth is nothing is owned by anything or anyone. We are all the same. We are all interconnected. What I do to you, I in fact do to myself. I hurt your finger, my toe starts to hurt. My ignorance stops my understanding of the connection between my hurt toe and your hurt finger. But just because I am ignorant does not change the truth. The truth is we are 7 billion people in this world. 7 continents, thousands of countries, thousands of shades of brown. But we are one, and only one humanity. We need to start looking at each other as not shades, nor religions, nor professions. You and I are one. Humanity.
